"Jonny" - one of Vicks confiscated pit bulls (in his new home)

Ever wondered what happened to Michael Vicks dogs that were seized in the raid?
Well here's the story, complete with pictures. And it's got a better ending than we could have imagined. See how almost all of these dogs were rehabilitated and placed into homes, despite the life they had been forced to live. It's an inspiring story you won't forget. And a lesson in dog behavior.

  1. Karen, so glad you posted this. I was just watching him play and started thinking about the dogs and here is your post. That little fella looks adorable. I have been around pit bulls that are loving, wonderful animals. I realize many are raised like these and can’t be rehabbed but so many are greatl, loving dogs. Glad they didn’t throw in the towel on them :)

  2. I have read about them before and am amazed at how forgiving of humans they were/are. They are inspiring...

  3. Amy, I know what you're saying and it's a shame they get a bad wrap. Usually because of the way some human bred them, or trained them to be.

texwisgirl, I was surprised that so many were rehabbed. Even though I understand dog behavior pretty well, I'm surprised that dogs who were trained and forced to fight....and win, can be placed in a home with humans. A real credit to those who worked with the dogs to rehab them.
