Today I Honor Buddy, the German Shepherd.
You are a Hero Buddy!
For those of you who haven't yet seen this story, it is another amazing dog story.
"Buddy" an untrained, 5 year old, German Shepherd received an award Friday from the Alaskan State Troopers for leading them through the back roads of Alaska to a fire that was about to burn down the family home. Ben Heinrichs was in an out building beside his home working on an automobile part when a spark hit some gasoline and then ignited.
If not for Buddy leading the trooper to his home, the family may have lost their home to the fire.
The video above, which was caught on the dashcam of the troopers car, shows Buddy running down the road "leading" the trooper who then was able to guide the firetruck to the home. For the whole amazing story, click this link to Alaska dog honored for leading troopers to fire: associated press
The troopers later honored Buddy by giving him a stainless steel dog bowl engraved with words of appreciation from troopers for his "diligence and assistance."
