This isn't the best photo but should give you an idea of what you can do. Take the topo and click view in Google Earth and it transfers the info to the Google Earth photo. I had to keep this fairly far away to see enough detail but you can zoom in and see the area in great detail. It allows you to see the timber cover so if your looking for a particular detail, like a cleared area or a road, it should show up in the photo. Provides a really nice printable map of the area that you can take with you!
