Some people have rottweilers or doberman pinschers to keep an eye on their property. I have Deer! Two nice bucks. One facing North, one facing South. Feels good to know they feel that
safe, in my back yard! Maybe it's good luck. You know, like having a cricket in the house!
So I spent the past two days sitting in a tree when I could have made out better on your deck. Life is not always fair!
ReplyDeleteSorry Art...these two have "Protected Status" around here! If you don't shoot them, you can see them over and over, year after year!(ha ha) Hope you get a nice one soon! Send us a pic when you do and I'll post it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see anything but my friend bill took a nice 8 opoint. Scored 127 and weighed 180. Seasons run till the end of January so there's still a lot of hunting left to do.
ReplyDeleteI think, if I'm not mistaken, an 8 point in your area, would be 4 on each side, including eye tines? If that is the case, that would be a 3X3 here. We do not count the eye tines. I should say, the hunters here do not count the eye tines, as Dan and I do not hunt deer. Just don't care much for venison.
ReplyDeleteThe two 4X4s that you have in your back yard would be monsters here in the east. Montana has some big whitetails! The Bitterroot Valley and the Wensel brothers are legends. Venison is one of those things you either like it or you can do without it.
ReplyDeleteIf you like the bucks, you should see the Elk! We have some monster elk here. And they are good eating as well. Problem with getting an elk is that it takes a village to get it home!
ReplyDeleteAs a good friend liked to say "the funs over when you pull the trigger"
ReplyDeleteUnlike, with the camera....when you "catch" the "image" you get to take it home and put it on the computer, then brag to all your friends about your find. No blood, no guts, no cleaning, no hauling, no wrapping. And the 8 X 10 on the wall takes up a lot less room than antlers! Now THAT'S MY kind of hunt!! Okay, so I'm a sissy. I don't deny that!! ha ha
