If you're about to have your first litter of puppies, here's a great tip: When you start to feed the puppies solid food, whistle every time you feed them. In less than a week, they will come running like a heard of cattle when you whistle. It's a great way to teach them to come. You can say, "Come" when you whistle. I have found this to be very helpful when I have 8 or 9 puppies running around outside. The new owners will appreciate a head start on training, as well.
