Four Paws Pimple Balls RECALL Dangerous Ball

In case you haven't heard, the dog toy company, FOUR PAWS, has finally issued a recall on their ROUGH AND RUGGED PIMPLE BALLS WITH BELLS, after numerous reports of injuries and deaths.  These are hard rubber balls that have a hole in them with a bell inside the ball. It looks harmless enough, but can be deadly to your beloved canine partner. Apparently, because of a design flaw, (only 1 hole ) when a dog chews on the ball it can create a vacuum which can suck in the dogs tongue and cause it to be stuck. Once lodged in the ball, the tongue becomes swollen, causing the circulation to be cut off. If the ball is not removed, the dog can actually loose their tongue, or even die.  I have read some horror stories about dogs who have been so severely injured that they had to have their tongue amputated. For one story in particular, on a golden retriever named "Chai", go to: http://thechaistory.blogspot.com/

If you have any of these balls, PLEASE,  don't take a chance.  CUT A SLIT IN THE BALL TO DESTROY IT AND PREVENT ANY DOG FROM GETTING HURT AND THEN GET RID OF IT.
