AKC Celebrates 125 Years

The American Kennel Club (AKC), turned 125 years old this year. Founded in 1884, they are the largest purebred dog registry in the world. AKC  advocates for the purebred dog as a family companion and advances canine health and well being. AKC works to protect the rights of all dog owners and promotes responsible dog ownership.

The AKC sanctions more than 20,000 events, each year, that brings in more than 3 million canine entries annually. Events include dog shows, obedience trials, hunting tests, lure coursing, and earthdog tests are designed for dogs of every breed and inclination.
